What insurance companies is Integrative Chiropractic in network with? We are in network with Aetna, Summa and Medical Mutual of Ohio and Medicare. We are also a provider for the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation and the Veteran’s Administration.
Will treatment be covered by my insurance? There is no way for us to determine what your individual coverage is without contacting your insurer. If you give us your ID# and your birthdate, we will be happy to call your insurance company and attempt to determine your exact coverage. We cannot be held responsible, however, for any errors or changes in coverage. Ultimately you are responsible for understanding your benefits.
What kind of treatment will I receive? We offer chiropractic manipulation, acupuncture, applied kinesiology, heart sound recording, therapeutic massage, mechanical traction, electrical stimulation, nutritional counseling and more. We endeavor to treat each unique patient with a personalized care plan that best fits their needs. For this reason, it is impossible to say up front what treatment the doctor will recommend for you.
How many visits will I need? Again, because we personalize care, there is no way to determine up front how many visits you will need. Many people have their issue addressed completely in one or two visits, others may need many more. It is dependent on many factors, including the severity of complaint, how long it has been going on, and your body’s ability to respond to treatment. Our goal is always to help our patients to recover from their illness/injury as quickly as possible.
Do you handle problems other than back and neck? Our clinic strives to be a complete wellness center for our patients. We address all sorts of health issues including, but not limited to, injury, pain, illness, allergy, asthma, hormone issues, sinus, TMJ, headaches – including migraines, surgical recovery and fatigue through a holistic medicine approach.
Do you work with children? We work with children of all ages on a myriad of issues.
How does Chiropractic work? Chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free ways to address neuromusculoskeletal issues. It is a non-invasive treatment approach that involves applying pressure to spinal joints to correct alignment and improve function.
What is Applied Kinesiology? Applied Kinesiology is used to treat problems by evaluating chemical, mental and structural aspects of the patients. Analyzing the patient through manual muscle testing, motion analysis and more, aids the doctor in restoring the patient to full physiological function.
How does Acupuncture work? Acupuncture is based on ideas and practice that has been around for thousands of years. Acupuncture can balance meridian channel energy and restore homeostasis in the body. There are several types of acupuncture, not all of which use needles. The doctor may use needles, ear seeds, Guasha or moxa to restore balance in the body. The most common type, however, involves the insertion of extremely fine needles in very specific points to stimulate the body to heal itself.
What can acupuncture help with? The World Health Organization recognizes acupuncture as an effective treatment for over 300 diseases. It is impossible to list all the issues acupuncture can be used to address. Some of the more common uses of acupuncture include: pain relief, smoking cessation, addiction control, to speed healing of injury or after surgery and migraine headaches. In our office, we use acupuncture commonly for treatment of pain, joint sprains, frozen shoulder, post-surgical recovery, stroke paralysis muscle rehabilitation and Bell’s palsy.
Does acupuncture hurt? The needles used are super thin and the majority of patients do not feel any sensation at all when they are inserted. Acupuncture does not feel at all like getting a shot or giving blood.
